Let us know what you think about the Prop
Love it!
I received my Prop today and I am loving it! As per other reviewers here, a bunch of rubber stickers should take away the sliding problem. All in all, it's an awesome product. I would certainly recommend it to my friends.
Keep it simple
Simple sturdy design, easy to assemble/disassemble and looks great. What more could you ask for. Been using this product for over 6 months not with no issues at all. Highly recommended.
So Simple
Bought one through the FAB sale - loved it so much I bought another one today! Love the simple design.
Fantastic Design
Unlike a lot of other stands that have a big front lip or large hooks at the front, the Prop fits my 15" Retina MacBook Pro perfectly, with two small, clear and barely noticeable hooks at the front. I added a couple of rubber stickers on the rear contact points to keep the Prop from sliding around my desk, and I couldn't be happier. It's a fantastic stand at a great price.

I have a 2 part comment-
First, I do like the product, having looked at other items like this, this is/was a great idea.
Secondly though, & here's where the "Buts" come in, and it's not your fault, as you took into consideration how most laptops are made, and how they would fit your product, But...
My laptop has a beveled bottom edge which starts about 2 inches from the edge. So, the 2 hook thingees meant to grab and hold the laptop from sliding have very little to grip onto, and that is even further exacerbated when I open the laptop further then perpendicular, and the weight is shifted away from the keyboard side. It's already slid off a few times, but hasn't hit the floor yet, and I'm trying to think of a fix for it, but I don't want to bend it while heating it, or anything else like that.
So, if you have any ideas anyone, I am open-minded. I have some myself, but more minds might come up with something I didn't think of. Thank You, and keep up the good work guys and gals, as I do like the product, it's just not working well on my laptop.
Essential accessory
I ordered my third one today. Did the first two on the Kickstarter project and fell in love with them. I leave one at home and the other lives in my laptop bag. Knocking around in a well-traveled laptop bag did in the travel one, but I've gotten so used to using the Prop when using my laptop that I can't be without it. I ordered a different type of stand that I thought would be more durable in the bag. It's durable, but it doesn't keep my computer as stable as the Prop does. I'm going to rig up a heavy cardboard sleeve to slip the prop into for travel and that should solve the problem. The materials and the weight are perfect (thus the five stars). These things aren't fragile: it took some serious abuse for me to screw mine up. In my mind it didn't break. It got radically distorted when it got skewed in my bag and *I* snapped it in two when getting impatient and trying to bend it back. I suspect had I just warmed the bent piece it in some steam I could have flattened it out without damage.
I love the prop
I backed the prop way back in November last year. I was really needing a stand for my (then) shiny new macbook pro. But I must admit, I couldn't wait, so I bought an mstand by rain design. It was a nice (and expensive) chunk of metal that fitted in well with the apple design aesthetic. And so when my prop came in the post, I didn't really give it a chance.
Only when I went on a working holiday did the prop re-enter my headspace. I chucked it in my bag and patted myself on the back for getting it earlier.
It's worth mentioning I have back pain (due to spending way to much time working/in front of a computer). Ergonomics are very important when I'm working. The prop has given me a portable solution that allows me to dramatically improve my comfort when I'm on the move.
For this, I thank you and I wholeheartedly wish you the best of luck for your endeavors in the future :)
The Prop is awesome, so glad I have 3
My computers work hard. I am a programmer and business owner so I travel and spend most of my time programming, testing and running a serious amount of virtual machines.
My MBPs used to heat up fast and this made the process of work unpleasant. My hands became clammy and the heat was frustrating.
That's changed now when I travel my prop comes with me, it keeps my laptop cool and my hands don't become hot and clammy. The prop is well made and flexible I have traveled with it in my hand luggage and where it could have bent or broken it hasn't.
So the props are well made.
Thank you
Just one improvement IMHO a rubber pad, feet, thingy, support system y just put 2 rubber bands on the front and sliding is gone
Worth the wait
So happy with the prop- ordered 2 of these one for us and another for a gift. Both computers fit very well and look great also- in fact the prop really disappears underneath. Moves very easily from table top to card table to countertop and has not had any problem slipping at all - even on tile. Great idea and something we use everyday!!
